Workshop #2

The Life Brief: A Life Practice for Transforming Hope into Action

Please have a pen and paper on hand for this workshop.

The Life Brief is the practice of leaning into curiosity, clarity, and creativity to drive personal change. This hands-on workshop uses intimate stories and penetrating questions to guide participants in boldly naming and declaring their hope. And since action is a by-product of clarity, getting clear about our hope is the first (and possibly most vital) action we can take towards realizing our vision for the future. This workshop will inspire people to unveil their truth, release their fears, and seize personal agency to act in service of hope and humanity.

Session Highlights

  • icon-bullet-arrow-green
Learn the practice of curious questioning, sharpened clarity, and intentional action to unlock your own indomitable spirit
  • icon-bullet-arrow-green
Harness the power of questions to help you name and define your hope
  • icon-bullet-arrow-green
Identify the limiting beliefs holding you back from acting on your hope
  • icon-bullet-arrow-green
Suspend and set aside your cynicism, skepticism, and “realism”

  • Pippa says:

Thank you. I will engage in active hope – moving home so that I do not have a long commute to work every day and then cycling into work whenever possible. Growing more of our own food from saved seeds using compost to feed the plants. And protecting the land where I do have some control over what happens, not having a traditional garden.

  • Lynn says:

To take at least one small step at a time in connecting with at least one person a day with positivity love and hopes for a bright future. Starting today. And repeated each day as often as possible.
Thank you for this inspiring program. I’m sorry I did not see all of the program but will review it after the fact. Thank you , all of you, for sharing your stories and wisdom with me. • Eric Nicholson says:

Even as a floating blanket of CO2
thickens, Mother Earth is caring for us.
    Oxygen floods our hearts and
the tiny fly dying in my bathroom sink
is a reminder of aln everlasting life force
as is walking from my bathroom
into my living room, or turning the ignition
key of my car. Mother Earth is lookiing after
the burning forests in America and
    the paramedic ambulance workers
    in my own drowning city.

My friend who is paralysed by
    the trance of unworthiness
is being cared for by Mother Earth.
She sent a gift to him the other night
wrapped up in a dream. He remembers
a tortoise from long ago and how he’d place
Delight in a cardboard box filled
with scrunched up newspapers to keep him warm.

  • Theresa says:

One person alone cannot make a lot of change but everyone taking responsibility for what we can contribute personally will make all the difference in the world. I want that for my four great grandchildren and for all of mankind. We were granted such a majestic gift in this world. Let’s take care of it as it has taken care of us.
    Thank you
    Theresa

  • Jean M. Ohlen says:

  • Jodi Selene says:

I’m savoring today’s gifts slowly and have only seen Dr. Edith Eger so far. Some of my family were in concentration camps, too. Her spirit and hope that she’s developed are beyond inspiring! I’m so grateful for this session and I will hold her in my heart as the grandmother I didn’t get to have in biological life, but will adopt in spirit. Thank you! I’m going to buy her books.

  • Rima says:

Really inspiring, so beautiful. I especially love the last day. It is really amazing how positive thoughts and energy can stimulate healing .My hope is the same as many other people’s hope:
I hope for people to do the right thing and to not let greed take over their humanity
I hope that humans start to remember that they are human KIND and not human Cruel
I hope too that humans start to realize that animals are sentient beings and that any form of use, abuse, and exploitation needs to end. This includes so many ways that it is impossible to list. However, factory farming, breeding animals for murder must end now, all of which lead too to climate change and illness in our bodies.
Circuses must end, and zoos must close. No animal should be held in captivity and more and more sanctuaries need to open.
In addition, world wide we must stop animal experimentation, there are other means….the list goes on and on.
Probably one of the most important ways to change our world starts with the youth. Therefore Humane Education should be implemented in schools across the globe.
Thank you for a wonderful series. Thank you for caring

  • Ingrid says:

thank you all for helping me keep my head above ‘troubled’ waters
